Ledger terms — counsel review pending

What it costs

Not offered for sale until invoicing exists. Trials are free. Nothing is billed. Fourteen days free either way. Reply stop to end it. The free days start when you first sign in, not when you first read a page.

When we are wrong about a role

Wrong role refunds the month. We refund our fee. We do not pay your crew. The refund is a credit against the month, recorded against your subscription, and it is the whole of what we owe. We are an accounting of a public record, not an insurer of what you do with it.

What you get

Every case in the districts you follow where the public docket shows an application or an order to employ a sale professional — an auctioneer, a liquidator, a sale agent — with the firm named as the order names it. A case appears once, however many times it was filed on.

What is counted, and what is only indicated

A case is listed when its filing text has been read and admitted. Dockets whose event label suggests a hire but whose text has not been read are shown as an unconfirmed count beside it, never inside it. The two numbers are always printed separately.

What this is not

No placement. No introduction. No fee for a match, and no fee tied to any outcome. We do not contact the firms, the trustees or the debtors on your behalf, and we make no claim about what any listing is worth to you.

Where it comes from

The public court record: the courts' own free filing feeds, the RECAP mirror, and — where a filing has been paid for and read — a single-entry read of the public docket. Every page says on which date it was read.

How to stop

Cancel by replying stop to any message from us, or by saying so from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, and we do not ask why.

What we do with what we read

We publish counts and the fields we parsed. Where a filing was paid for, its text is not republished on a public page for sixty days after the read. Individual debtors are not named on public pages, and trustees are not named at all.

These are our plain terms for the ledger, written to be read, not to hide. They are pending review by counsel; when that review completes this label comes off. Nothing here waits on it — the terms mean what they say today. The record itself is at /ledger, and it carries no price.
